It’s National Grammar Day!

A Tribute to Marina Orlova continues today, the last day of Sexy Grammar Week. Thanks for coming along for the ride. Our last  Hot for Words video addresses a word that’s often associated with grammar: geek. I love her pronunciation.

What is Sexy Grammar?

Sexy Grammar is a lot of things. It’s the fun way I present writing tools and grammar guidelines. But it’s also a philosophy—that writing and art satisfy a human urge to create, not unlike sex. Sexy Grammar is about letting your inner writer be sexy—turned on, engaged, and unapologetic. When you do that, your writing gets sexy, and that attracts readers.

What is Sexy Grammar Week?

Sex ed luminaries and heroic grammarians have already established March 3rd as America’s Sexuality Day and March 4th as National Grammar Day, so I’ve declared the whole first week of March for Sexy Grammar! Last year, I nominated three honorary Sexy Grammarians. This year I’m paying tribute to one special superstar, Marina Orlova.

Why Marina?

I have a huge crush on Marina Orlova, the world’s sexiest philologist and an accomplished teacher on the World Wide Web. Besides winning many coveted honors and awards, Marina curates and stars in a library of educational, funny, and sexy videos that explore origins of words and idioms in the English language. I think her motto, “intelligence is sexy,” harmonizes with Sexy Grammar.

Who is the Sexy Grammarian?

That’s me, Kristy Lin Billuni. I’m a writer, teacher, collaborator, and editor whose free Sexy Grammar lessonsaffordable workshops, customized coaching, and boutique manuscript services seduce writers into finishing their projects.

It’s America’s Sexuality Day!

A Tribute to Marina Orlova continues as Ms. Orlova handles masturbation in today’s  Hot for Words video. It’s the perfect word for America’s Sexuality Day and the fourth day of Sexy Grammar Week. Enjoy!
